Dale Brearcliffe
Dale Brearcliffe has been the president of Digital Bear Consulting since its founding in 1997. Dale has been mucking around with computers since he taught himself a programming language in the early 1970s. (This makes him either old or experienced.) He earned a Bachelor's of Computer Science degree in 1983 which was sufficient to propel him for the next few decades. In 2017 he earned a Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Computational Social Science. Working for law enforcement he created a records management system so that he would have data as a crime analyst to forecast criminal activity. Dale was using the Internet before the creation of the world wide web, then quickly adopted it for law enforcement information sharing by creating some of the earliest web pages. During the dot com era, he was a consultant to Silicon Valley technology companies where he trained staffing groups to effectively use the Internet for high-tech recruiting and negotiated contracts with web based employment services. He has also taught classes in Internet research methodology and network science (social network analysis and link analysis) for law enforcement, the Department of Homeland Security, and other government agencies. Dale has never met a computer language he did not like (OK, maybe a couple) and has used a wide variety to solve his client's issues. He creates software for data mining, middleware for systems that do not like to talk to each other, and algorithms for detecting patterns in data sets of all sizes. He also provides web and email hosting for select clients.
Donna Brearcliffe
Donna Brearcliffe joined Digital Bear Consulting in 2001. She earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration Management degree (with a minor in Human Resources) in 1996 during her twelve years in one of the most prestigious business environments on the planet: The Walt Disney Company. As a Disney cast member, she provided human resource information systems (HRIS) services at the executive level, built a data warehouse, and managed executive (board of director) stock options. Donna moved on to Seagate Technology where as a project manager she saved an applicant tracking system from failure. (The company that developed the system eventually failed - A testimony to Donna's challenge to save the software.) After working for other Silicon Valley firms she took an education break, earning a Master's of Library Information Science degree in 2007. Using her accumulated experience, Donna has served as a reference librarian in public, academic, and government libraries. She specializes in managing electronic resources.
